Project Description

SCOPE | Gladstone East Shores Cultural Plan

The East Shores precinct provides a world-class recreational hub for residents and visitors to meet, relax, exercise and have fun, in addition to the 43 hectares of existing space at the nearby Gladstone Marina and Spinnaker Park.

The community parkland has been designed to reflect a sustainable industrial city and generate local pride for the people of Gladstone. The development included an interactive water play park, barbeque areas, playground facilities, a waterfront promenade and viewing platform with shade structures, fishing platform and an extended jetty structure, improved walkway to Auckland Hill, new car parks, public artwork with local significance, and wet dock for the HMAS Gladstone.

iAM was commissioned to produce an extensive cultural plan for the precinct resulting in two major public art works and the incorporation of local artists into the landscape.
