SCOPE | Art Strategy
A $60 million facelift has put The Strand — formerly Showcase on the Beach — back on Coolangatta’s retail map, creating a shopping precinct with more than 120 stores, offices and restaurants. The reinvigorated Marine Pde precinct, where final fitout work is nearing completion, offers a more diverse mix of amenities, including a 3800sq m upgraded Woolworths supermarket.
Australian design firm The Buchan Group managed the architectural delivery of The Strand, including refurbishment and design development works for the retail, entertainment and fine-dining precincts. iAM was commissioned to develop an extensive Art Strategy and recommendations for the newly redeveloped precinct, The Strand, looking to engage the centre with the local arts community.
