iAM Scope | Integrated Arts in Health Strategy including Concept Design Phase, Design Development and Install

In 2019 iAM Projects began developing a multi-phase Integrated Arts in Health Strategy for the new Tweed Valley Hospital. The strategy focused on three main areas:

  • An Entry Statement in the main foyer;
  • A range of integrated and framed artworks throughout public areas and specific wards; and
  • A patient-focused Artist in Residence Program that engages a range of multi-disciplinary artists.

The curatorial approach for the artwork opportunities at Tweed Valley Hospital focused on the hospital as a place of healing, reflection and discovery. This approach encouraged a range of local themes to be explored through visual engagement and storytelling via culturally significant stories, regional landscapes and historical land use such as farming and agriculture.

Over 80 integrated and framed artworks as well as four major fabricated works were commissioned by local or locally connected artists.
