Located on the upper levels of The Fox Hotel previously closed to the public, Fish Lane Studios aims to nurture and cultivate emerging creative talent by providing five residency studios for artists/creatives to produce and showcase their work.  The creatives selected for the inaugural residency program are: The Wandering Room, Chris Bennie, Hannah Bronte, Michelle Xen and The Fashion Archives.

Over the coming months, a creative program of activities is scheduled to engage the local creative community and develop new audiences for the artists involved.

Curated by iAM projects Renai Grace and Carmel Haugh, Fish Lane Studios will be the home of regular events showcasing the work of artists in residence and local talent in a curated program incorporating fashion, art, design and music.

Established Australian artists Gerwyn Davies, Kate Rhode, Chantal Fraser, Hannah Gartside and The Wandering Room will officially open the new gallery space with the inaugural exhibition ‘En Masse’. The exhibition will run throughout the month of August and will be the backdrop to the August program of events including the inaugural Salone series, hosted by Brisbane based stylist Christie Nicholaides commencing Thursday 22 August.

Also residing in studio spaces over the coming months is musician and performer Michelle Xen, who will work alongside QUT fashion students to construct costumes for her forthcoming music clip, to be filmed in Fish Lane Studios. Online publication the Fashion Archives will also operate out of one of the studios following their launch in late August.

In addition to artist spaces, Fish Lane Studios provide unique venues for event hire, product launches and functions for the creative industries.
